Ugly Art Night is back, and this time we’re making deeply questionable home decor! Think cursed wall art, strange little objects, ugly candle holders, unsettling collages, fake luxury, weird ornaments, and things that absolutely should not exist in someone’s living room. Paint over old things. Glue nonsense together. Make something confusing. Make something weirdly beautiful. Make something aggressively ugly. No art skills needed. No pressure to make anything “good.” Just a table full of supplies, a room full of people making strange little creations, and a good excuse to stop taking creativity so seriously for a night. We’ll have materials ready. The Cafe will have drinks and snacks. Bring your imagination, your chaotic energy, and maybe a friend who makes questionable creative decisions. Ugly Art Night now happens once every 3 months, with a different theme each time. Seating in the Art Cafe is limited, so we really encourage you to register in advance to reserve your spot. Drop-ins are welcome, but we may not be able to guarantee seats once the session fills up.
A creative hangout for unfinished hobbies, abandoned projects, and things you swore you’d “get back to someday.” Half-painted canvas? Crochet project sitting in a bag for 8 months? Notebook full of ideas you never finished? Come back to it. Bring whatever you’ve been meaning to work on, art, writing, sewing, sketching, editing photos, zines, mending clothes, miniature painting, half-built ideas, or something completely random, and spend a few hours making progress around other people doing the same. No workshop. No pressure. No need to be good at it. Just a shared space to sit down, focus a little, and finally continue that thing you started. Music and moral support included. Creative procrastinators welcome. The Cafe will have drinks, snacks, and creative stuff available from the menu. Come make, repair, finish, or quietly avoid starting something new for once. A cosy community film night exploring identity, storytelling, and queer experiences in honor of Pride Month. Join us for a special edition of Screen.IN in honor of Pride Month. We haven’t announced the film yet, but expect an evening of thoughtful storytelling, shared viewing, and open conversation around identity, community, and lived experience. Screen.IN @ Sattya are laid-back documentary and film screenings that get people talking. Open to all, these sessions create space to explore ideas, share perspectives, and connect through storytelling. Each screening is followed by an open discussion, sometimes with directors, sometimes with guests, and always with curious minds. The Loft transforms into a cosy living room for the night, cushions on the floor, a bowl of popcorn being passed around, tea, conversation, and a room full of people watching together. A focused session for the things you keep putting off. Got emails you’ve been avoiding for weeks? An application sitting half-finished? Invoices, writing, budgeting, admin, planning, grant work, website updates, research, or that one task silently haunting your to-do list? Bring it. Join us at CoWork @ Sattya for a two-hour productivity session using the Pomodoro technique, short focused work sprints with breaks in between, designed to help you finally tackle the things you’ve been procrastinating on. The session will be led by Juliana Shrestha, co-founder of Duluwa Outdoors, who has spent years working remotely and figuring out how to stay productive without losing her mind. Come early to get caffeinated at the Art Cafe, then settle into CoWork and get moving. Stay after to hang out, keep working, or reward yourself with a creative experience in the Cafe. Bring your laptop, notebook, charger, headphones and one thing you really need to finish. Good for freelancers, students, remote workers, creatives, procrastinators, and anyone who needs a little structure to finally get something done. Find your space. Get to work. Over the past months, we’ve been quietly rebuilding, reorganizing, testing ideas, improving spaces, and growing what Sattya can offer. This is a chance to come see what’s been happening behind the scenes and get a feel for the space as it exists today. Walk through the Makerspace, Art Cafe, CoWork, Loft, and more. Meet the team, learn about workshops and programs, see ongoing projects, ask questions, and spend time with the community. Whether you’ve followed Sattya for years or are just discovering it now, this is an easy way to stop by and explore. Expect: • Open studios + space tours • Small creative activities • Info about workshops, residencies, coworking, and volunteering • Film, music, conversations, and people hanging around • Tea, coffee, and general creative chaos No need to “be creative.” Just come by.
