Month Long Event (March)(GMT+05:45)

Event Details

We’re looking for three emerging artists who are into experimentation and creative risk-taking. Whether you’re into painting, printmaking, zines, installations, performance, public art, or something we haven’t even thought of yet—this space is yours to mess around and make things happen.

WHAT YOU GET
A shared studio space at Sattya for 1 month (work alongside 2 other artists).
Access to our Makerspace (tools, materials, and all the DIY vibes).
Freedom to experiment—try new mediums, test ideas, and explore creative failures.
Opportunities to share your work informally—if you want to! Open studios, workshops, public interventions, or casual show-and-tell sessions are all welcome.

EXPECTATIONS
Use the space consistently. We won’t be counting, but roughly 20 hours a week would be great.
No final exhibition required—this is all about process and exploration. If you feel like sharing or contributing to the development of the Sattya space, we’ll support that.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
Emerging artists who need space to create and experiment in any creative discipline (visual arts, street art, zines, sculpture, performance, installation, sound, etc.).
Artists who love DIY, hands-on making, and non-traditional approaches and are open to collaborating, sharing ideas, and being part of a creative community.

DETAILS
Start: March 1 (flex)
Initial Duration: 1 month
Where: Sattya (shared studio space for 3 artists)
Cost: Free (artists cover their own materials)
Expectations: Use the space and be part of the creative energy.

HOW TO APPLY
Email us at collective@sattya.org:
Tell us about yourself. What do you make? What are you curious about?
What do you want to experiment with during the residency?
Send us some work samples/portfolio/social media link.

WHY THIS RESIDENCY
Because experimental, process-driven work needs space to grow.
Because Kathmandu needs more spaces for artists to just make stuff without financial barriers.
Because we believe in DIY, creative play, and making things happen.
