Part-Time Art Cafe Manager

Location: Art Cafe @ Sattya, Jhamiskhel

Hours: Approx. 20–25 hours/week

About the Art Cafe @ Sattya

The Art Cafe is a cozy, creative social space where guests order art experiences instead of food. With a rotating menu of hands-on activities and a relaxed vibe, it’s a playful alternative to typical hangouts. We also serve a small selection of coffee, tea, and drinks — simple, affordable, and community-centered.

The space is supported by volunteers, and we’re looking for a part-time manager to lead day-to-day operations, guide volunteers, and help build a space that’s as joyful and functional behind the scenes as it is for our guests.

Role Overview

The Cafe Manager is the anchor of the Art Cafe — responsible for operations, volunteer coordination, creative station upkeep, and guest experience. You’ll also handle essential back-end responsibilities like budgeting, inventory tracking, and light marketing — helping the cafe thrive as both a space for community and a sustainable initiative under Sattya.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Volunteer Coordination

  • Manage the volunteer schedule (3 per shift)
  • Train and support volunteers during shifts
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive team culture

Art Station Oversight (Core Responsibility)

  • Restock and organize art materials
  • Ensure stations are clean, intuitive, and always guest-ready
  • Improve experiences based on guest/volunteer feedback

Admin, Budgeting & Communication (Core Responsibility)

  • Track and manage supply and beverage inventory
  • Prepare and oversee a monthly operating budget
  • Handle basic expense tracking and submit monthly reports
  • Maintain a daily operations log and share weekly updates with Sattya
  • Coordinate purchases, restocking, and payment workflows

Marketing & Outreach

  • Collaborate with Sattya team to promote the cafe on social media
  • Document the space (with help from volunteers or team)
  • Share behind-the-scenes content, guest moments, and new menu items
  • Help organize soft events or activations to draw in new visitors

Cafe Operations

  • Open and close the space with volunteers
  • Oversee light service of coffee, tea, and beer
  • Monitor cleanliness, safety, and the overall vibe
  • Troubleshoot small issues and keep the space running smoothly

Who You Are

  • Friendly, dependable, and excited about building something meaningful
  • Experience with hospitality, creative spaces, or small-scale operations
  • Organized and confident handling basic finances and scheduling
  • Comfortable working afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • A good communicator who can lead a small team with care

Bonus if You Have

  • Experience managing volunteers or small teams
  • Skills in budgeting, basic finance, or inventory systems
  • Comfort with Instagram and social media content
  • A love for art, community spaces, and trying new things
