INTERNSHIPS 

 

Sattya has internship openings for Nepali nationals who would like experience working for a media arts organization. We are seeking highly motivated, independent, efficient, creative and reliable individuals.

Internships require a 20 hour weekly commitment for 3 months, as well as attendance at events. Perks of working at Sattya include getting valuable experience in a media arts environment, free participation in all our workshops and events, as well as free access to our equipment and library rentals. College credit is available if required.

Being an intern at Sattya is about more than doing just what the descriptions below entail. Interns are encouraged to learn new skills, come up with their own ideas for events and programs, and contribute whatever it is they are passionate about to Sattya. It’s also a pretty cool way to make connections, sometimes get side jobs, and get paid to be creative.

Current salary is Rs. 6000/month.

Graphic Design Intern

  • Responsibilities:
    • Designing flyers, promo materials, web graphics
    • Social media updating
    • Networking
    • Blogging
  • Qualifications:
    • Ability to type and design in Nepali
    • Basic knowledge of design software
    • Interest in current trends
    • Research skills
    • Desire to learn

 

Media Intern

  • Responsibilities:
    • Documentation (photo and video) of events, programs and workshops
    • Network with newspapers and media to get our programs and events covered
    • Manage Sattya photo LightRoom archive
    • Update Flickr, Facebook, website with photo/video
  • Qualifications:
    • Intermediate knowledge of photo and video skills
    • Knowledge of photo and video editing
    • Writing skills
    • Organizational/research skills
    • Proficient with Flickr, Facebook, and blogging

 

Outreach Intern

  • Responsibilities:
    • Social media updating  (Twitter, Facebook, Blog)
    • College event promotion
    • Managing College Ambassador Program
    • MailChimp updating
    • Networking
  • Qualifications:
    • Social media skills + natural networker
    • Research skills
    • Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision
    • Administrative/managerial skills
    • Take initiative to create programs

 

Technology Intern

  • Responsibilities:
    • Hardware diagnosis and maintenance
    • Database systems check
    • Software checks and updates
    • Assisting in equipment rentals
    • Inventory checks
  • Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of computers and media equipment
    • Enthusiastic and fast learner
    • Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision
    • Organizational & Research skills
    • Knowledge of web apps, HTML, CSS, WordPress

In addition to the responsibilities of each intern position, there are always a million random things that need to get done. We work on setting up events, cleaning, painting, fixing things, promotions, outreach, and much much more together.
