SEEKING HARIYO CHOWK INTERNS!
Sattya Media Arts Collective based in Kathmandu, Nepal, is looking for interns to help build our urban garden/outdoor art space, Hariyo Chowk. This is an unpaid position. This phase of our project will run through November 31, 2012.
Interns will:
- Work as part of our team to build our space – this will include caring for the garden, making a small building and crazy constructions out of trash, mud bricks, and bamboo, etc.
- Helping with everything that needs to be done – ranging from buying supplies, communicating with neighbors, coordinating volunteers, and managing admin tasks.
- Have an opportunity to learn about natural building, permaculture, project management, and more.nbsp;
Ideal candidates will have interest in sustainable and/or permaculture design and organic gardening. Experience is great but enthusiasm is all you need. 20 hours a week commitment required. Full term commitment through November 31 is preferred but shorter periods are ok as well.
To apply, please contact us at hariyochowk@sattya.org with your availability. Looking forward to hearing from you!

I am a social worker and being a part of the society, environment is something that i am concerned about.I always end up doing new things and i love to play with colors.Whenever i am free i spend my time doing something weird but most of the time i end up getting lucky and people appreciate my work in a good way.I think it’s fun to meet new people and work with them. I get along with almost every kind of people. Once i get involved in anything i complete that work with my full dedication.I am even more hardworking person especially when it comes to doing creative things.

hello
i am sapath singh tulachan…i am really aware of urban pollution and its effects on entire population..hariyo chowk can be an example for the solution to this problem. if we can educate and motivate people to involve in planting trees, keeping places green and clean, it won’t be long time to see our kathmandu green and beautiful and also less polluted…
