Comic Workshop

Comic Workshop

Even with the rise of comics in the recent years, a lot of people still consider it to be a medium meant for children. However, in reality, comics cover a wide range of genres and interests… from superheroes, adventure and fantasy to graphic novels that deal with subjects like love, war, illness and search for identity.

A thing that prevents most people from making comics is the concern that they ‘can’t draw’. The truth is, you don’t need to be able to draw well to make a comic. What is important is that you have a story to tell and it has characters that resonate with the readers.

In this workshop we will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of creating a comic to tell a story
  • Explore the various genres within comics
  • Create a low-cost 6 page comic
  • Learn the basics of Photoshop to create or enhance comics
  • Produce a collaborative anthology

The focus will be on creating independent DIY comics, zines and anthologies. All levels of drawing ability are welcome.
