Slam Poetry Workshop

Poetry as it is, is a form of self-expression. Slam Poetry makes it even more powerful and appealing to the average crowd, who may or may not be into poetry. It is the art of making yourself heard, LOUD and CLEAR!

We will:

• Learn about the brief history of Slam Poetry
• Learn about a few rhyme schemes
• Work on our performance skills
• Do some writing exercises
• Perform our poems at the end of the workshop

About the instructors…

Tsering has been slamming since last year September, but has been writing since high school. He has participated at a workshop organized by The QC Bookshop and the American Embassy. Has performed at places ranging from the Kathmandu University to House Of Music. Part of the only slam poetry group in town, The Word Warriors!

Ujjwala Maharjan won the first slam poetry competition in Nepal. She is also a prominent member of the Word Warriors. The last slam held at Sattya was won by Ujjwala we are very proud to have Ujjwala teaching our slam workshop this time around. Come learn from this slam pro : )
